Loch Lomond Highway Mapping Project
The autoMAP Mobile Mapping System was deployed to map an 11km section of highway to which it was not practically feasible to install traffic control management. The majority of the survey was able to be completed in a single afternoon with the vehicle travelling at normal highway speeds. Significant density of survey control was used to constrain the LIDAR point cloud and therefore enable accuracy requirements to be achieved.
Test Track – Mobile LiDAR Mapping System
The autoMAP Mobile Mapping System has been rigorously tested including acquisition of data at a national test track. Tests included various speed acquisition repeatability and various scenarios of GNSS / IMU post processing.
Overhead HV Cable and Pylon
Laser scanning is deployed here to acquire exceptionally high resolution point cloud models of overhead electric infrastructure at long range – i.e. height of towers, height of cables. High levels of detail can be achieved quickly, from a safe distance.
Fire Engine Manoeuvre Mapping
As an important design input to new multi-vehicle specialist support fire stations LandScope was requested to accurately model the shape, turning trajectories and associated footprints of all fixed body and articulated vehicles in the fleet.
Laser scanning was used in conjunction with real time kinematic (RTK) GNSS sensors deployed over the vehicle reference points to develop a complete manoeuvrability model.
River Thames – Integrated Capture
The autoMAP Mobile Mapping System is deployed to a hydrographic survey vessel to acquire integrated LIDAR and photographic panorama data of various bridges and river bank sections. In this case river based data has also been integrated to data acquired from a vehicle mounted solution – i.e. crossing the bridge carriageways.
The combined dataset allows for easy topographic modelling, asset inspection, GIS data capture, and 3D modelling in a difficult environment.
