River Thames – Integrated Capture
The autoMAP Mobile Mapping System is deployed to a hydrographic survey vessel to acquire integrated LIDAR and photographic panorama data of various bridges and river bank sections. In this case river based data has also been integrated to data acquired from a vehicle mounted solution – i.e. crossing the bridge carriageways.
The combined dataset allows for easy topographic modelling, asset inspection, GIS data capture, and 3D modelling in a difficult environment.
With a focus on refurbishment and re-use of existing buildings, laser scanning technology has become a key tool on accurately modelling 3D space – either to produce traditional measured building deliverables or as input to sophisticated Building Information Model (BIM) creation.
Primary School Heritage Survey
Laser scanning can provide a detailed permanent record of a building structure. The high resolution point cloud model may be used to extract vector drawings or simply retained as a detailed record in itself. In this particular instance drawings were provided in 2 dimensions as well as 3 dimensional models of high detail areas.
New Street Station – Internal 3D Space Survey
As part of a railway station concourse refurbishment programme and in conjunction with structural ground penetrating radar technology LandScope deployed the latest laser scanning technology to accurately model and map the internal space, as well as determine the locations of structural elements within the existing concrete structure.
